I will start of this review with a bang and say that the shampoo and conditioner were my FAVOURITE of this collection! The scent is so refreshing smelling like a hint of mint and the ocean. Mmmmm! I was scared that it would smell like coconut which is a scent that can often be overdone. As useful as purple shampoo is supposed to be for blonde hair, it just wasn't removing any product buildup from my roots which was when I started using the Purifying Shampoo almost exclusively for my roots and purple shampoo on my ends from August to November. As far as I could tell, the shampoo did not strip my hair of its colour and actually made my scalp and roots feel clean.
The Detangling Conditioner was also fairly good, but if you have severely dry or coloured hair, you will definitely need an additional moisture boost during the week as this conditioner will eventually not feel like enough.
The Kelp Help Deep Conditioning Masque was not the most memorable for me mainly because my hair only had the "Wow, it's so soft!" feeling for the first day and then just reverted back to a state of normalcy which I suppose is better than having dry hair. My favourite part of this masque was really again that refreshing ocean scent. I cannot get enough of it!
Ah, the Sea Waves Salt Spray. I only recently learned how to really use these for my hair routine. Now that my hair is pretty dry, I don't want more "crunch" so using any type of sea salt spray on my ends just seems counterproductive. What this is really great for is adding volume to my roots especially on two or three day hair! All I do is spray this on my roots and then tousle the roots with my fingers. No, your hair doesn't feel soft and smooth, but it sure looks good! My only qualm with this spray is that it smells like...coconut...
Final verdict: Overall, I felt the Beach Blonde line was a strong one perfect for the summer, oilier hair or just when you feel like your scalp and hair need a good cleansing! The scent of the shampoo, conditioner and masque are so refreshing and like nothing I have ever smelled before in a haircare line. John Frieda has quite a number of hair favourites for me and I'm sure there will be more to come!
